Before you go: build your trip from your bookings

Your trip log shows each trip in three parts: getting there, where you're staying and things to do. For each one it asks if you've booked it. If you have, add the details and the price you paid. If not, get some ideas, book with the travel company, then come back and add it. For things to do, you can also keep a list of ideas you like, with their pictures, and turn each one into a booking when you book it. You can see it all on a map too. Your budget captures only confirmed bookings, so you see what the trip actually costs and what's left to book.

Move a trip from Planned to Booked to Completed as it happens, and tick off the before-you-go checklist: passports, travel insurance, your GHIC card, transfers, online check-in and anything you add yourself.

While you're away: log spending in the local currency

Bought a coffee in euros or a museum ticket in dollars? Log it in the money you paid in and the trip log converts it to pounds at that day's exchange rate. Your running total sits next to your budget, so you know where you stand before dinner.

When you're home, see everything you paid, line by line.

After: everywhere you've been

Completed trips move to Where I've been, with a running total of trips, nights away and money spent. Loved it? Plan the same trip again as a new trip in one tap.

Print any trip or save it as a PDF, and add your dates to your phone or computer calendar.

Questions about the trip log

How do I add a booking to my trip log?

Open your trip log and look for Get there, Stay or Things to do. Each one asks if you've booked it yet. Tap Yes and fill in the details: who it's with, the dates, the price you paid and your booking reference. Not booked yet? Tap No, I need some ideas, book on the company's own site, then come back and add it.

Is the trip log free?

Yes. Plan and log as many single trips as you like, free. The Deal Club adds multi-centre tours and keeps your trip log in step on your phone, tablet and computer.

Can I log spending in euros or dollars?

Yes. Log each payment in the currency you paid in and the trip log converts it to pounds using the exchange rate for that day. You can also enter amounts in pounds.

Where is my trip log kept?

Your trips are saved on your own device. Deal Club members can turn on sync to keep them online too, so the same trip log shows on every device. You can back up or delete your data from My Account in the planner.

Can I print my trip?

Yes. Every trip has a print button that also lets you save it as a PDF, and an Add to calendar button for your dates.

What happens when I mark a trip as completed?

It moves to Where I've been, with the nights and money spent added to your totals. You can open it again at any time, or plan the same trip again as a new one.
