Family holiday planner

One place for the whole family's holiday: how you're getting there, where you're staying, what you're doing each day and what it all costs. Add who's coming once and it carries through every step, from ideas to the budget.

Planning a family holiday in five steps

Your dates and travellers carry through, so the ideas you see fit your family's trip.

  1. Plan the trip

Pick where you're going from (any town, UK postcode or airport) and to, your dates, how many are travelling (up to 12), how you're getting there and your budget.

  2. Open your trip log

It asks if you've booked your travel, your stay and things to do. Already booked? Add it straight away.

  3. Get ideas and book

See flights for your dates, places to stay, tours, sights nearby, restaurants and the typical weather. Book on the company's own site.

  4. Add it to your trip

Add each booking with the price you paid for everyone. Your day-by-day plan and budget build up as you go.

  5. Print or save as a PDF

Take every booking and reference with you, on paper or on your phone.

Questions about planning a family holiday

Is the family holiday planner free?

Yes. Single trips are free to plan in full, as many as you like: where to stay, how to get there, a day-by-day plan, a checklist and the budget. The Deal Club adds multi-centre tours, holiday deals from your own airport and sync across your devices.

How many people can I plan for?

Up to 12 travellers on one trip. Add the number on the Plan page and the ideas you see are for your group.

Does it show children's prices?

Child and infant prices vary from company to company, so always check the final price on the booking site. Then add what you actually paid to your trip log, and your budget stays accurate.

Can I add our own plans, like a beach day?

Yes. In your trip log, under Things to do, add anything you like to any day, with what it costs your group (or £0 if it's free). It shows on your day-by-day plan.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. The planner works on phones, tablets and computers, and you can add it to your phone's home screen like an app. Once it has loaded, it keeps working without a signal.
